Six Points Evaluation and Training announces the appointment of Sue A. Uerling of Gunnison as the Executive Director effective October 5, 2009. Under the direction of the Six Points Board of Directors, Sue will be responsible for the overall management of the facility and staff in accordance with the non-profit’s mission statement, strategic plan, annual goals and objectives.

“I am very excited about this new opportunity with Six Points,” said Sue. “I firmly believe that to be successful in a non-profit organization, you have to be passionate about the people it serves and I am certainly passionate about serving as an advocate for the developmentally disabled individuals in our community. With the expertise of our current staff and board and a new facility forthcoming for our clients, I am very inspired about the future of Six Points.”

Sue was born and raised in central Nebraska in a rural town called Cozad. She attended Hastings College in south central Nebraska and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. For the past 25 years, she has worked in a variety of management, marketing and fundraising positions including several with non-profit organizations such as the Hastings College Foundation, Mary Lanning HealthCare Foundation, and the Hastings Museum of Natural History.  In 2006 after moving to Gunnison, Sue was the Executive Director of the Gunnison Arts Center.

Sue enjoys hiking, skiing, golfing, reading and watching just about any sporting event. He husband, Colin, is a sales rep at The Paper Clip and her daughter, Erica, is a seventh grader at Gunnison Middle School.

“My family and I have grown to love the beautiful Gunnison Valley and especially the wonderful people here,” said Sue.
